Welker Wall Snake
Master's Tool Kit

Large External Pulling Magnet

This Large Pulling Magnet is used to grasp the String Magnet through the wall surface. With the two magnets now locked together, the inner String Magnet can be moved from one access hole to another access hole by moving the Large Pulling Magnet along the outer surface of the wall. The Pulling Magnet is encased in a piece of white Teflon® allowing the magnet to be used on a painted or wallpapered surface without scratching or marring the surface.

Insertion Tool

This insertion tool is used to insert any of the String Magnets into the wall through a small access hole where it can easily be grasped through the wall surface by the Large Pulling Magnet.

This tool is ideal when working in older homes where metal access boxes were used. If you try to accomplish this task without the Insertion Tool, you will encounter a problem with the String Magnet grasping onto the metal box and making it virtually impossible to properly place the String Magnet inside the wall.

This bendable insertion tube holds the magnet in a non-magnetic plastic tube, allowing the installer to guide the String Magnet through the knock-out hole in the metal box to a desired location inside the wall. The String Magnet can now be grasped by the Large Pulling Magnet placed against the outer surface of the wall.

Pulling Cord

This specially designed 12 ft. Pulling Cord (stored on one of the wind up devices) is equipped with a steel eyelet for ease in attaching wires to be pulled from one access point to the other. The Pulling Cord also has a special patent pending design, allowing for the pulling of wires when doing a sharp 90° transition. (i.e. from ceiling to wall)

Telescoping Prop/Automatic String Magnet Transfer Tool

This tool is meant to be used in a limited access area such as a crawl space or a shallow attic, which is too small to be easily accessed by the wire installer. This tool can be telescoped to reach an inaccessible point of up to 12 feet away.

One example of how the Automatic String Magnet Transfer tool is used would be when trying to reach a steel drilling bit, which has been used to drill from a wall wiring access hole up through the wall plates and into the attic. When brought into close proximity, the magnet with the string will attach itself to the drill bit. Now the drill bit, with magnet and string attached, can be brought down to the access hole in the wall. Now you have a pulling string from the access hole in the wall to an
accessible point in the attic.

This Telescoping Prop was also designed  to be used to locate a reference point in the attic and hold the Large Pulling Magnet in place for the 90° pull.

String Magnets

These String Magnets are a key component of the Welker Wall Snake Kit. These magnets act as a carrying device to move a pulling string from one access hole to the other. On the far end of the string is an electrical connection eyelet. The eyelet makes it easy to attach a wire-pulling cord or a wire to the end of the magnet string.

String Magnet Manipulating Tools

These unique tools are made of a copper coated steel wire designed to manipulate the String Magnet in a blind space such as a ceiling. (The smaller being of a 1/16
inch dia. and the larger being of a 3/32 inch dia.). When making a 90° pull from the ceiling to a wall access hole, these tools can be utilized. They can also be used to move the string magnet over a dividing wall, through a firestop, or jump over a ceiling cross support, such as a 2x4. This would otherwise be impossible to do without significant damage to the wall or ceiling.

These tools can be bent to accommodate the job at hand.

Retrieving Tool

This retrieving tool is made of a copper coated steel rod and a small steel bolt . It is
used to retrieve the last few inches of the String Magnet from the inside of the wall to complete the string-pull from the starting access hole to the second access hole. The rod can be bent to accommodate the job being done.

The rod can be bent to accommodate the job being done.

Remote Magnetic Release Tool

This tool is designed to fit on the Greenlee Fish Stix® (Cat. # 540-12). The String Magnet attaches to the Remote Magnetic Release Tool. With the specially designed release plunger, the string magnet can be released from up to 10 feet away, enabling the String Magnet to fly over and link up with the Large Pulling Magnet.

Note: The Greenlee Fish Stix® is a registered product of Greenlee®, A Textron Company and must be purchased directly from Greenlee® or an authorized distributor.

String Magnet and Pulling Cord Windup Storage Tools

This windup storage tool was constructed with holes on either end so when held with the thumb and middle finger and allowed to spin, the string is not twisted or knotted by the unwinding action. There are screws embedded in the block to provide a magnetic latch for the string magnet and the steel eyelet.

Carrying Case

This storage tube is uniquely designed to hold all the components of the Welker Wall Snake Kit except the Telescoping Prop. Separate compartments allow for easy separation of magnets from metal rods. Virtually indestructible and fits nicely behind a seat at only 1 1/2 inches inside diameter.

Bonus Surround Sound Release Tool

Crafted from high quality plastic and stainless steel, the Surround Sound Release Tool allows for easy insertion of the Pulling String, and instant capture from the Large External Pulling Magnet.

Bonus Surround Sound Pulling String

The Surround Sound Pulling String acts as a guide, to pull the speaker wire to a pre-drilled hole in the wall.  The Pulling String also features a small but powerful magnet, easy storage utility, and a "no-break" guarantee.
